Christmas was early and full of food

All our parties are over, so it kind of feels like Christmas is over now too. Lunch or dinner with my family is the apex of festivities for me. We’re not big on ceremony. I think because we’re that way, the idea of not celebrating is kind of just as family-ish as celebrating. Which all makes Christmas at home just… really comfortable and nice.

My sister and I made a gingerbread house. Nailed it, right? It stank pretty bad and I couldn’t get the smell off my hands for ages. Pretty sure it would make you sick if you ate it. We left it on the table as a conversation piece for Mum’s friends later that night.

My mum is a great cook and made me take pictures of all the food. So good.

One sleep to go before we’re on holiday. There’s so much to prepare for our house-sitter, which I’m thankful for as it means we have less time to over-think the trip. The whole of December has been busy, which has made the month seem so long. It’s great. I like being busy just before a huge relax.

I should probably get packing, but arrr~ procrastination is the best part about being on leave.
