A good day
Aaah, I had an awesome day today. :D
First, Man. United won vs Sunderland. That sent me to bed rather happy. Then this morning, I rearranged my garden for summer – I think I’ve found a winning layout. I broke my tomato plant :( but I’ve put the broken piece in water, hoping to root it, so maybe I’ll get another plant out of it.
Played football and scored a goal and I am really fucking pleased. I hauled ass for it all game, physically and mentally. I’m not naturally skilled at this, so it feels great to strike a success with that effort.
AND THEN if that’s not a day maker, Niaal and I went to Mr Munchies for sushi. We’d have never known it was there if someone hadn’t told us. It’s tucked away behind Grill’d and Gélare on Beaufort St in Mt Lawley, half a block from Planet Books.
The ambience is super casual, the decor pretty down to earth, so was a nice surprise to get greeted as we walked in, sat and served like a serious establishment.
Cool beans Gojira and Astroboy mural on the far wall.
Food was yum. They do Western-Japanese fusion sushi a la carte, but you can also order your own custom maki from their range of ingredients. We ordered off the menu, small serves so we could try more flavours. Pictured above is their American Lady Roll: Texas rib meat and a homemade potato chip.
This was the cheesy potato roll. Omg so good.
Two Way Duck special, with duck confit on top and steamed duck breast inside. The meat was tender and warm. I love duck and don’t get enough of it, so this was my favourite.
I don’t remember the name of this one but it was very tasty. And came with a smokey sweet barbecue sauce.
Like Pepper Lunch, it’s not a cheap feed. Bout $25 a head or so, but that’s with an appetite after an hour and a half of running.
My night was capped off with a pentakill in an aram game. It would have been proper capped if Norwich at least drew against Chelsea, but arr, will just have to do with a day that was almost perfect. :)
I hope you guys had a great day too. Nite nite!
