An unexpected chilli harvest


It’s winter, it’s cold, and yet chillies still grow. Had a little harvest this morning, while tipping scraps into the worm bin and planting some sprouted carrot tops. Used half the crop in a chilli con carne for dinner. Now to think of what to do with the rest.

In the picture are 4 Cayenne peppers (skinny red ones), 2 Bulgarian Carrot chillies (long yellow), 1 Habanero (round yellow) and one Cherry Bell radish (red thing that doesn’t look like a chilli). All were raised on a diet of worm compost, some normal compost, blood and bone, and cow poo.
