Hay, I played with clay today, okay?
I played with clay today and made these tiny figurines that look rather gay. If you don’t like it, you should eat some hay then go jump in the bay. Okay?
This air dry clay was fun to play with. Figurines were way easier than the rectangular dish, and so very satisfying. Building up a 3D object feels great.
My tools were a teaspoon, a toothpick, a bamboo satay skewer and a tiny spatula that came in a box of Royce chocolates. But you can use any flat small thing, I think – whatever has a bit of a taper that can be used for spreading. Proper clay tools would have been heaps better, but I don’t want to spend heaps on this unless I know it’s going to be a sticking hobby.
I got my clay from Jacksons – Model Air Dry (MAD), $10. They come in 2kg resealable bags.
Tired now. Football was hard today when it shouldn’t have been. Didn’t expect to still be exhausted from giving blood, but the wooze and nausea this afternoon didn’t feel like my usual temptation to puss out. Shepherd’s pie for dinner tonight, maybe an orange for dessert and possibly some beef slice soup for midnight snack. ^___^
