An honest day’s work

I got to play with power tools today! It was awesome. Once they showed me how to use the drill and hammer nails into hardwood, the guys let me get supervisedly hands on. Many bent nails and loose slats later, we finished repairing and painting the fence pieces, ready for re-mounting

So much fun. This was my first time getting to do real handy work with real stuff that I could actually injure myself with (Ikea assembly and snap-in floorboards don’t count). I feel useful today. I think I’ve earned the right to daydream about woodworking projects; it’s not unrealistic or shit-talking now, know what I mean?

Looking forward to an honest night’s computer gaming, which I think I’ve also earned. :)
